Tiana King, DNP

 

  • Joined Trident Health Center in October 2023.

 

 

  • Tiana King is a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, (Arizona State University (ASU), 2022).

 

 

  • A member of Sigma Theta Tau, International Nursing Honor Society, a seasoned Registered Nurse, with a passion for lifestyle medicine and well-being. She carries diverse professional and leadership experience having worked in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings.

 

 

  • Tiana began her healthcare journey as a certified nursing assistant in 2001. She then went on to earn a licensed practicing nursing certificate, her RN degree from Gateway Community College, in 2008 and a year later she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from ASU.

 

 

  • For many years before returning to graduate school, she traveled extensively throughout South America, India, and Thailand taking courses on various forms of traditional healing and yoga therapy. In addition to providing skilled nursing care, over the last ten years she has taught patients and colleagues the benefits of lifestyle medicine particularly through a plant-based diet. A way of eating now famed by Dan Buettner studies on the Blue Zone (longest lived) populations. Tiana is focused on addressing root causes of illnesses while providing comprehensive, holistic evidence-based, patient-centered care to those she serves.

 

 

 

  • During her doctoral studies, she designed and implemented a pilot study that featured a “How to Guide” for plant-based eating in underserved populations with Type II Diabetes.

 

 

 

  • •Tiana is a member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine (currently, taking courses to become board certified), The American Association of Nurse Practitioners, The American Holistic Nursing Association and has received certificates in Plant Based Nutrition through T-Colin Campbell’s Center for Nutrition Studies and Cornell and Andrew Weil Integrative Medicine Skills for Residents.

 

 

  • •Tiana was born in Springfield, Massachusetts and first came to the Phoenix area in 2001. She left in 2011 to begin traveling nursing and returned in 2018 after working in Baltimore, NYC and Los Angeles. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her two Boxers and two cats Sammie, Brody, Abby and Tobey. She enjoys reading, traveling, and exploring new cities. She is a yoga enthusiast and enjoys learning about herbal plants, gardening, natural skin, and beauty care.
